We learned a lot from the publication of the first run of BIRDIE! One thing we learned is that, if you did not design the game, adding/subtracting the roll modifiers can get complicated. Also, we’ve seen many people forget to add their extra die for being BOB (Back of the Box).
We added two components to address these issues. The Roll Modifier Board and the BOB Meeple. The Roll Modifier Board has places to hold each player’s Tee+1/Tee-1 chips as well as the rain and wind weather cards and all of the pre-roll Karma Cards. Additionally, the BOB Meeple rests on the Tee marker of the player that is BOB so they remember to add their BOB die.
Additionally, we have introduced multi-modal Karma Cards. Multi-modal means that they can be used in different ways. Use them to help, or wait for ideal conditions and make it really count. These cards, along with the improved Go For It / Safe Shot chips bring a bit more strategy into the game. (Don’t worry, there is still plenty of Take That in there too, just not quite as much!)Base Game
